 Beyond Bone Defense

Beyond Bone Defense – The most complete and effective way to support your bones

Most of us probably don’t give the 206 bones in our bodies much thought. And if we were asked to say what our bones actually do we’d probably answer that they exist simply to give our bodies shape and support. But our bones are much more than just inert, solid objects. They are living tissue, constantly changing through processes of formation and resorption known collectively as remodelling. And they do more than just give us our shape. Amongst other things they provide protection for organs – think of how the skull protects your brain, eyes and inner ears and how your rib cage protects your heart and lungs – allow us to move and produce our blood.

So the health of our bones is vitally important to our overall health but, unfortunately, like so many other parts of our bodies, the health of our bones deteriorates with age. As we get older our bones become weaker, more fragile and more prone to breaking.

While breaking a bone at any time of our lives is a painful experience, if you are old and you break a bone it can have tragic consequences. In fact, researchers have now established that if you are over the age of 75 and you suffer even a minor fracture, you face an increased risk of death.

And even if you’re not in your 60’s or 70’s, don’t be complacent about your bone health. Osteoporosis, perhaps the most well known bone disease, is a silent menace. It displays no symptoms and you may not find out that you have the disease until you actually break a bone. What’s even more alarming is that, although getting older is a big risk factor for developing osteoporosis (as many as half of all women and a quarter of men aged over 50 will break a bone due to the disease), osteoporosis can strike at any age.

It’s also a common misconception that osteoporosis only affects women – whilst it’s true that the majority of sufferers are women, particularly post-menopausal women, men can still succumb to the disease. Indeed, over 2 million men in the US alone have full blown osteoporosis with many millions more at risk of developing it. And osteoporosis can so severely weaken your bones that in some cases even sneezing can cause a bone to break.

Given the above facts it’s about time we all took our bone health seriously and what better way to do this than to take Beyond Bone Defense – the only bone health product on the market that contains every fully documented, effective cutting edge nutrient.

Beyond Bone Defense contains a unique combination of nutrients that are specifically recognised as being effective in improving bone density. These nutrients include folate, vitamin B12, manganese, zinc, boron, strontium and silicon. Beyond Bone Defense also contains a unique OsteoBalance herbal complex which includes green tea extracts, curcumin and lipoic acids. And in addition to all of the above, Beyond Bone Defense also contains the two main forms of Vitamin K and a super high strength form of Vitamin D. Together, Vitamins K and D work synergistically on bone density. They are the classic combination when it comes to bone health.

Vitamin K comes in two main forms - Vitamin K1 and Vitamin K2. Vitamin K helps to build strong, healthy bones by playing a key role in both bone metabolism and the absorption of calcium (the main mineral in bone metabolism). Vitamin K2 in particular acts a bit like “biological glue” helping to plug calcium into the bone matrix. Clinical studies have shown that not only does Vitamin K improve bone health by increasing bone mineral density, it can also by actually reducing fracture rates in people suffering from osteoporosis. Indeed, Vitamin K is now understood to be one of the most important nutritional interventions for improving bone density.

Working together with Vitamin K in Beyond Bone Defense is a super high strength form of Vitamin D. Vitamin D is essential for bone health. Too little Vitamin D and your bones will become thin, brittle and misshapen, and you’ll become vulnerable to developing bone softening diseases such as osteomalacia (known as rickets in children). This is because Vitamin D promotes the absorption of calcium in your intestines and it also acts to maintain adequate concentrations of calcium and phosphate in your blood. You need proper levels of these two minerals if your bones are to grow healthy and strong. Maintaining adequate levels of Vitamin D can also help to protect you from osteoporosis.

There is very little Vitamin D in food, instead, sun exposure provides most of us with our Vitamin D (it’s produced when the sun’s UV radiation reacts with a chemical in our skin). But, of course, too much sun and you run the risk of skin cancer. Anyone who doesn’t expose their skin to the sun enough is at risk of developing a Vitamin D deficiency and with more and more of us adopting ever more indoor lifestyles, Vitamin D deficiency may become increasingly common. Sitting inside by a glass window won’t help either – the sun’s UV doesn’t penetrate glass. And if you are dark skinned you need even more sun exposure for your body to generate the right amount of Vitamin D. Being obese is problematic – you may need as much as twice the usual daily requirement of Vitamin D because extra weight has been found to impair Vitamin D absorption.

Not only is Vitamin D vital for your bones, it’s also crucial for your overall health as it is involved in a wide range of neuro-muscular and immune functions. Unfortunately, if you do become deficient in Vitamin D, it’s not something that can be sorted out overnight - so don’t run the risk of leaving your body short of this vital vitamin.

Just one capsule of Beyond Bone Defense a day, is all that it takes to get the full benefit of this unique, cutting edge product. Beyond Bone Defense – good for your bones, good for your body.
