Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a water-soluble vitamin that is found in various fruits and vegetables. It is essential for functions such as collagen biosynthesis and iron absorption, as well as aiding immunity and helping the body to fight off oxidants.
The body cannot produce Vitamin C, but it is readily found in foods such as citrus fruits, bell peppers, tomatoes, strawberries, potatoes and cruciferous vegetables. It can also be boosted through supplementation.
