Youth Gems® Serum for the face and neck

This serum has been designed to be used sparingly against the most noticeable skin aging effects on the face and neck, i.e. applied directly to the fine lines surrounding the eyes and the mouth and chin etc. It can be used alongside other products in the wider Youth Gems® range.

Full Youth Gems® Range

The Youth Gems® range consists of 5 different peptide based topical skin applications.

• Body milk – a light cream that can be used on most areas of the body. Designed to create a smoother skin texture and composition.
• Day cream – the core product of the range, this cream is for the face and hands to provide resilience against skin aging, improve blood supply and create a more elastic skin condition.
• Night cream – designed to be used specifically at night, to the face and hands to help improve blood supply.
• Serum – designed to be used sparingly on the face and neck, to target fine lines and plump up the skin.
• Tonic – a cleanser that can be used on all areas of the body. It helps to make the skin taut and can be splashed on as required; can be used as an after shave if required.

All products in the Youth Gems® range have been designed for use in different areas of the body and can be used in conjunction with each for an all-round approach to creating a more youthful appearance.

All products should be kept away from the eyes. Do not ingest.

Combination Skin Care Therapy

Youth Gems® products are very versatile and can be used across many areas of the skin. As such, combining them creates an overall strategy towards more youthful skin. An example of this could be:

Daytime application

• Use Youth Gems® body milk across the hands, legs and arms – ensure skin is clean and dry first.
• Use Youth Gems® to tonic on the face and neck (Décolleté) to cleanse the skin. Once dry, apply a thin layer of Youth Gems® day cream onto the face.
• Make up can be applied after products have absorbed.

Evening application

• Wash the face then cleanse with Youth Gems® tonic.
• Once dry, apply 3-4 drops of Youth Gems® serum onto the face, and 2-3 drops onto the neck. Distribute evenly with gentle movements.
• Youth Gems® Night Cream can also be used overnight.

Peptides

Each Youth Gems® application contains 4 specific peptide bioregulators; these are from the:

• Cartilage
• Blood vessels
• Thymus gland
• Pineal gland

Each product in the range contains all 4 short-chain peptides as well as a ginseng extract called Neovitin®. Neovitin® is a highly efficient antioxidant, strengthening the walls of blood vessels and normalizing fat and protein levels in skin cells. It also helps to maintain the integrity of the structures of cell peripheries, keeping their shape and protecting their protoplast to help keep the skin soft and silky.

This specially developed program of complex skin care has a directed tissue specific action across all basic skin structures, as well as strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory action through the ginseng biomass extract, to improve skin condition across the face, neck, hands and body.

Other natural and synergistic ingredients

• Olive oil – helps to make skin tender and velvety with its regenerative and moisturizing properties.
• Raisin-seed oil – has anti-inflammatory, regenerative and moisturizing effects, improving skin tone and structure as well as preventing the dilation of the pores.
• Argon oil – contains lots of Vitamin E and Vitamin F (non-saturated fatty acids). It is suitable for any type of skin to help with dryness, flabbiness, and skin wrinkles by absorption into the epidermis.
• Soya oil – an important source of lecithin including oléine acid, palmitin, linoleic acid and stearin acids. It helps to restore the epidermal barrier and aid the skin in retaining water.
• Jojoba oil – promotes moisture prevention in skin tissues, healing cracks and helping with peeling and irritation.
• Bisabolol – this extract from chamomile and lavender essence possesses anti-inflammatory properties as well as giving a soothing feeling.
• Peony extract – an essence from the peony plant to help restore epidermis function.
• Sodium hyaluronate – a derivative of hyaluronic acids to help restore, normalize and retain water balance.
• Green tea extract – this is a natural antioxidant with a higher activity level than Vitamin E. it has a high content of polyphenols, which have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. Caffeine and tannin are part of this extract, promoting skin elasticity, nutrition and further blood microcirculation.
• Starch synthesized from different plants – this helps to improve the complexion due to blood microcirculation movement. Gives the skin a glossy shine.
• Glycerine – a component of vegetable fats to help make the skin soft and elastic.
• Xanthan gum – acts as an emulsifier and thickener.
• Cocoa oil – this contains stearin, palmitic acid, oleic and linoleic acids for healing and toning effects.
• Carrageenan – an extract from seaweed that is known to reduce the potential for allergic reactions.
• Glucose – this actively participates in salt-water and carbohydrate metabolism, thus providing the skin cells with energy.
• An active yeast complex – this helps to prevent baggy skin and enhances blood circulation, improving the elasticity of skin blood vessels and stimulating the production of vascular endothelial growth factor. This works to reduce black eye-rims and edema below the eyes.
• Fresh water sponge extract – this possesses anti-inflammatory, anti-oedematous and transdermal actions that considerably strengthen the activity of the other ingredients.
• Sorbitol – this is a type of carbohydrate found in rowanberry juice. It is used as a moisturizing component to influence the texture of the serum.
• Liposomes – these are hollow microscopic spheres that contain a stable form of vitamin C and rutin to slow down the skin aging process. They work by carrying various encapsulated active substances deep into the epidermis.
• Panthenol (also known as vitamin В5) – this possesses healing, moisturizing and smoothing properties.
• Vitamin E – a natural antioxidant that protects the skin against various oxidizing changes.
• Sweet almond extract – this possesses smoothing and remodelling actions for the skin by forming a continuous, elastic and smooth film. It also soothes and helps to reduce wrinkles.
• Winter bloom extract – this has a cleansing effect; it soothes superficial skin layers and promotes the shrinkage of pores.
• Meadow foam oil – this versatile ingredient possesses strong anti-oxidizing actions by moisturizing the skin, creating an invisible protective film on the skin surface.

Why use Peptide Based Skincare Products

Research into the field of short-chain peptide bioregulators has been ongoing since the 1980s when of Professor Vladimir Khavinson from the St. Petersburg Biogerontology Institute in Russia discovered short-chain peptides. This was during his time in the Soviet Union military medical corps and this research helped to protect troops from health issues related to aspects of warfare such as radiation or battlefield lasers.

This initial research led to the discovery that short-chain peptides and DNA have a remarkable link in that each organ/tissue/gland uses specialized short-chain peptides to initiate protein synthesis. By utilizing the specific peptides that relate to the aspects of the skin we wish to regenerate and protect, peptide-based skin care is highly effective and safe to use.

The 4 specific peptides in the Youth Gems® range come from the thymus gland, the pineal gland, cartilage and blood vessels. When combined with the other natural ingredients plus ginseng extract, they work in a number of different ways:

• Thymus gland peptide – stimulates tissue regeneration and synthesis of tissue specific proteins. As such, cell metabolic activity is enhanced, leading to accelerated renewal of various cell tissues. This also helps with anti-inflammatory action, as well as stimulating the immune and anti-stress actions in the cells.
• Pineal gland peptide – this helps to regulate metabolic processes, increasing protein synthesis in the skin cells. As such, the lipid processes in the skin cells are normalized, promoting the elimination of negative influences on the skin such as the sun, air pollution etc.
• Cartilage peptide – this helps to stimulate the regeneration of both keratinocytes and fibroblasts in turn helping to reduce destructive changes in collagen skin structure. Collagen structures are then strengthened.
• Blood vessel peptide – this peptide helps to regulate the metabolic processes in the vascular walls, which in turn normalizes vascular tone, restores skin microcirculation and helps to regulate and strengthen the vascular walls of skin vessels.

Peptide skin care testing

Testing which has taken place at the St. Petersburg Biogerontology Institute, including clinical trials and examinations, has shown that skin cells benefit from the application of short-chain peptides in a topical solution.

Blood Vessel Peptides

Experimental research into how the blood-vessel peptide aids metabolism in the vascular cell walls has shown that this is restored to a normal level for each age group included, from 20-60 years. This is despite negative influences on the skin (including environmental factors) that promote accelerated skin aging.

Thymus Peptide Research

The slides below show growth of skin cells in a nutrient medium; the left shows the normal growth and the right how this is improved with the thymus peptide is added. Skin cell cultures show an intensity of skin cell proliferation by 42% with thymus peptide application.

Pineal Gland Peptide Research

This chart below shows how skin antioxidant activity varies when pineal gland peptide is applied.

• Green = normal skin antioxidant activity
• Orange = how the antioxidant activity changes under stress
• Red = stressed skin antioxidant activity after pineal gland application.

Results concluded on this trial were that the pineal gland peptide interferes with how free radicals can destroy skin cells, also restoring stressed skin to practically the same physiological levels of normal skin after application.

Youth Gems® Specific Testing

Results of testing with specific Youth Gems® skincare products (using a thermal imaging method) looking at the thermal radiation of the skin shows a significant improvement in blood flow levels after Youth Gems® products have been applied topically within 7 days. Skin elasticity depends highly on the microcirculation level in tissues and how well they retain moisture; the unique blend of ingredients in Youth Gems® products helps to improve skin microcirculation and moisture levels.

Below can be seen further research into the human skin surface before and after using Youth Gems® products, over a 2-month period. The left slide is a before image, the right is after. This clearly shows the reduction in transverse and longitudinal striations, with a smoothing of the skins surface reduction in small wrinkles, lifting the face contours and increasing skin elasticity. This was seen in 100% of all volunteers in this trial.
